It's Over

There are many things to be thankful for in this season of Thanksgiving. I am thankful the impeachment hearings are over. Whew, was that a long, boring and fruitless exercise.

I submit that the needle didn’t move in either direction as the Anti-Trumpers are still Anti-Trumpers and the Trump supporters are probably stronger than ever. It’s hard to say where the independents are now. Schiff’s lack of any flexibility and the abundance of speculation, presumption, opinions and hearsay provided little, if any, hard evidence of any impeachable offense.

The object of the Democrats is now clearer than ever — oust the president at any cost regardless of the damage being done to the nation and the lack of meaningful legislation.

I suspect Putin goes to bed each night saying, “I have them right where I want them, fighting among themselves and divided.”

The whole exercise was a perfect example of the “Believing Brain” a book

by Michael Shermer that I highly recommend. The Democrats believed everything that supported their narrative and the Republicans believed everything that supported their narrative. And, for those who agonized through the hearings, we were guilty of the same thing. That is the essence of the “Believing Brain.”
