Local Wins First Holiday Giveaway Drawing

Local resident Richie Hooper won the first weekly drawing for the Brevard/Transylvania Chamber of Commerce 2019 Holiday Giveaway. Hooper entered the drawing at Telco Community Credit Union on the Asheville Highway. He won $250 in Transylvania Bucks to spend at any of the 34 participating businesses.

Participating Chamber of Commerce members include Gold Ribbon level participants – O.P. Taylor’s, Sun Dragon Art & Fiber, SylvanSport, Telco Community Credit Union, and Printville; Red Ribbon level participants – [email protected], Blue Moon Art Gallery, Blue Ridge Bakery, The Cherry Tree, Comporium, Cup & Saucer, D.D. Bullwinkel’s Outdoors, The DFR Room, Dugan’s Pub, Elements Spa, Food Matters Market & Café, Forks of the River Taproom, Harris Ace Hardware, Headwaters Outfitters, Highland Books, Local Color, Mayberry’s Soups & Sandwiches, Mercy Urgent Care, Mud Dabbers Pottery, Number 7 Arts Gallery, Pisgah Fish Camp, Pisgah Forest Gem Mine, Poplar & Ash, Rocky’s Grill & Soda Shop, Theophilus, Transylvania Community Arts Council, Transylvania Habitat for Humanity ReStore, The Transylvania Times and WSQL/Q102 FM! Be on the lookout for a white squirrel in a Santa Hat on the window of all the participating businesses!

Stop by any of the locations to fill out an entry slip. Participants are encouraged to enter at as many locations as possible each week. A name will be drawn on Dec. 2 and 9 to award $250 Transylvania Bucks that can be spent at any participating business over the holidays. A grand prize drawing will take place on Dec. 16 for $500 Transylvania Bucks for those who “Complete the Phrase.” Each location has one of five words to create a special phrase. Visit multiple locations and turn in the completed phrase to the Visitor Center to be entered. Entrants must be 18 years or older to participate. Only one entry per person, per location, each week.
