Last month, scholarship donors and student recipients gathered for Brevard College's scholarship luncheon. Throughout the course of the afternoon, students, alumni and friends of the college got to know one another and share the impact Brevard College has had on their lives.

Each year, the Brevard College Scholarship Luncheon celebrates the over 170 named scholarships that support the education of many students at Brevard College. These scholarships are created by alumni, community organizations, friends of the college and faculty so that students of all walks of life have the opportunity to experience a Brevard College education.

This year, attendees were treated to student vocal performances, by seniors Sydney Windham and Anthony Zuniga, and a report by Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for Student Success Brandon Smith on the importance of scholarships for student success.

In addition, junior Rebeccah Rojas delivered a reflection on her own experiences, titled "Our Journey." In her address, Rojas reflected on her Brevard College education. "My education is not restrained to just a classroom, but filled with engaging opportunities on campus and in the community," she said. "Experiential education is a teaching philosophy that students can cultivate the skills that are necessary for any profession. The application of the skills and knowledge that is gained is followed by resolving real-life obstacles."

The college is grateful to the generous donors who make student success possible through their gifts, and the scholarship luncheon was a great celebration of the widespread commitment to student success at Brevard College.
