Lonnie Watkins had a roundabout way of talking about roundabouts at the Dunn's Rock Dinner and Program on Nov. 21. Watkins, who serves as N.C. Department of Transportation (DOT) district engineer for Transylvania, Henderson and Polk counties, said he considered naming that section of his presentation, "Coming Soon to an Intersection Near You." Instead, he shared statistics about the safety benefits of these traffic features.
