Sycamore Cycles, a bike shop in Pisgah Forest and Hendersonville, is collecting monetary donations for new children's bikes through Monday, Dec. 16. Bicycles will be distributed to Camplify leaders-in-training through a free raffle.

"Camplify hosts our Weeklong Leadership Camp at Camp Pinnacle each summer, including a mountain bike program," said Kristin Dunn, Camplify executive director. "Young folks learn perseverance, adaptability and confidence at our programs 10 months out of the year but may have never even ridden a bicycle."

Shane Dunn, sales manager at Sycamore Cycles Hendersonville, expresses that this is a natural fit.

"Sycamore Cycles outfits local camps with bicycles each season," Dunn said. "Camps, including Falling Creek, Glen Arden and Kanuga, provide camp scholarships to Camplify children. Partnering with Camplify extends our desire to get more local kids outdoors and on bikes."

Contribute online, by check, at Camplify in Hendersonville, or call (828) 697-2000 to benefit kids.

Camplify offers a nine-year leadership journey using camp and monthly programming for local youth. Unlike other groups, Camplify is dedicated to a child's character. We offer a commitment of leadership programs anchored by camp beginning in the 4th grade. Since 1994, Camplify invested in over 3,000 local lives.
