Transylvania County is called the “Land of Waterfalls.” We average 75 inches of rain a year. We flood a lot. Becky Mountain Road has been under water at least three times in the last year. Filling in two acres that routinely flood in between Becky Mountain Road and the Greenville Highway will dsplace an additional 1.3 million gallons of water, pushing it over the road and on to neighboring properties. It will also potentially flood Highway 276.
