Oskar Blues Tells Stories Through Brews – Brevard, NC

Not only does beer need to taste good, it needs to tell a story, said Ryan Dunnavant, operations manager at Oskar Blues Brewery in Brevard.

One of the brewery's beers, the imperial red ale G'Knight, is named for founder Dale Katechis' deceased firefighting friend in Colorado, Gordon Knight, who helped Katechis refine his brewing skills and who died while fighting a fire in 2002.

"The can has a forest landscape on it so it is paying homage to him," said Emma Engelman, the marketing ambassador for Oskar Blues Brewery.
