Thanks to record breaking turnout for the three 5K and Fun Run races in 2019, the Rotary Club of Brevard was pleased to present a check for $7,500 to the Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club.

"We are very proud to support this great organization, and to enable more students to access its services through this grant," said Josh Tilley, president of the Brevard Rotary. The Boys & Girls Club running teams participated in each of the three races, starting with the White Squirrel 5K in May, followed by the Firecracker 5K in July, and finally the Flight of the Vampire in October. Accepting the award was Kathleen de la Torre, resource development director for the Boys & Girls Club.

Brevard Rotary also gives special thanks to the Pisgah Health Foundation and United Way for their outstanding support of these races.

Brevard Rotary Race Director, Gordon Murray, better known as "Coach Gordon," reminds everyone to sign up early for the 2020 races, starting with the White Squirrel Race, which will be held on May 21. This will be the first race to start and finish at the new Depot on Railroad Avenue. It is also the inaugural event for this new venue.

Registration details will be available at the Brevard Rotary website at
