Eighteen new laws went into effect on New Year’s Day in North Carolina covering a broad variety of topics, from storm disaster relief to new fees for hunting and fishing licenses.

One law makes several changes to the statutes governing the Wildlife Resources Commission. Among the changes are fee changes for various hunting and fishing licenses, including lifetime licenses for sportsman, discounted licenses for disabled veterans and changes to definitions for mountain trout streams within the statutes.
