The Human Relations Council for Brevard and Transylvania County has announced its plans for the annual Martin Luther King Celebration, which will include a community brunch Saturday at Bethel "A" Baptist Church, and a night of entertainment Monday at Brevard College's Porter Center.

The Human Relations Council's mission is, in part, to work to have a community in which dignity and worth of the individual are respected, according to a press release. Additionally, the council's mission is to develop, improve and encourage fair treatment, mutual understanding, respect and good will among all citizens.

Saturday's brunch will begin at 10 a.m. at the church, located at 290 Oakdale St. in Brevard. The brunch is open to everyone.

On Monday, the evening will commence with a walk to stress "Unity In The Community" from Bethel "A" Baptist Church. Marchers are to assemble at Bethel "A" at 5:30 p.m., with the march to Porter Center beginning at 6 p.m.

After the walk to the Porter Center, there will be a celebration commencing at 7 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m. Shuttle buses will be available for those who need transportation from the Porter Center back to Bethel "A" Church.
