Last updated 1/15/2020 at 2:50pm

The North Carolina Bow Hunters Association hosted a measuring day at the WNC Wildlife Day event for hunters to bring their deer, bear and other game to be measured.

Though the rain did not relent Saturday for WNC Wildlife Day at Headwaters Outfitters, outdoor sport enthusiasts of all ages showed up in droves for the event.

As part of the day, Headwaters hosted several seminars for outdoorsmen and outdoorswomen starting at 10 a.m. and finishing with the 3 p.m. meeting of the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Council.

At 1 p.m., Alice Cohen from the U.S. Forest Service presented the Pisgah and Nantahala forests plan revisions that her agency has been working on since 2013, which, according to Cohen, should be released to the public in mid-February.
