Jack Hayes Ammons

Jack Hayes Ammons, 89, of Lexington, Ky., formerly of Brevard, passed away Jan. 20, 2020, at Saint Joseph Hospital.

A native of Waynesville, he was a son of the late David Leon Ammons and Bertha Medford Ammons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by all of his brothers and sisters.

He spent most of his life in Brevard, where he worked for Ecusta in the rewinding department for many years.

He was a great athlete and loved to play baseball and golf.

He is survived by one daughter, Julie Seanor, and husband, (Mike), of Navarre, Fla .; one son, Jerry Ammons, and wife (Joellen), of Nicholasville, Ky .; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nephew, Louis D. Ammons, of Santa Rosa, Calif .; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, at Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations, with Rev. Steve Taylor officiating.

Interment will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory, in Pisgah Forest.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m., prior to the service.
