Shortchanging Public Education

For the past three years, Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper and the Republican-led General Assembly have sparred over whether or not enough money is being spent on public education. Cooper has asked the state to spend more money while the Republican leaders, such as Senate leader Phil Berger, have said the state spends enough.
