Polk County chiropractor, business owner and health legislative advocate Dr. Winn Sams, who is running as an unaffiliated candidate for N.C.’s Congressional District 11, will be hosting a talk entitled Conscious Voting.

The event will be held from 2:30-4:30 p.m., Sunday, in the library’s Rogow Room.

“Our political climate has been reduced to nothing more than tribalism,” Sams said. “Our critical thinking, inclusiveness of people and moving forward dissolves with this limiting choice of belonging to the right team or correct way of thinking.”

The talk is free and open to all who wish to attend.

“This event is an excellent opportunity to learn and explore what we can do together as a common collective valuing people over party again,” Sams said. “By opening a space for dialogue and creating something new, we help anchor a much needed paradigm.”

Sams has practiced in Columbus since 2003.

A native of Charlotte, with a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill, Sams graduated from Sherman College of Chiropractic in 2002 summa cum laude and valedictorian of her class.
