BMC Volunteers Get Ready

For 2020 Season

February 13, 2020

Brevard Music Center Association (BMCA), is the volunteer corps of Brevard Music Center (BMC). The group is now preparing for the 2020 summer music festival and other activities. As “Volunteers Supporting Young Musicians,” members of BMCA assist with various activities at BMC.

Season festival programming highlights will include a Beethoven@250 Festival to commemorate the composer’s 250th birthday and the opening of BMC’s new 400-seat Parker Concert Hall in June. Parker Concert Hall will be a year-round venue and will provide the music center and the entire community with new programming and events. BMCA looks forward to helping with events at Parker Concert Hall and other activities which will extend beyond the summer season.

BMCA volunteers have many opportunities to serve. Each year, more than200 volunteers donate thousands of hours to BMC. Volunteers contribute their time in two areas: concert and non-concert related committees. Summer concert committees assist with ushering, greeting patrons, selling raffle tickets, serving Maestro Lounge patrons, staffing refreshment areas and “Harmony Gifts,” the center’s gift shop.

Volunteers also serve at BMC social functions and other special events. Non-concert committees provide vital behind-the-scenes support to BMC. These non-concert opportunities include assisting with facilities maintenance, grounds beautification, photography, delivering performance calendars and other promotional materials, recruiting and training volunteers, and office work.

Full information on BMCA and its activities can be found at All BMCA volunteers serve as ambassadors of the music center and are the life blood of the BMC.

BMCA President Ginny Steiger emphasizes that there is a volunteer opportunity for every interest. In late February a mailing will be sent to all interested parties and volunteers from the previous season. Formal registration for volunteering and scheduling for concerts occurs in March. If you did not receive a registration form for last year’s 2019 season and would like to volunteer this season, contact the BMCA volunteer office no later than Feb. 20 to receive a registration packet.
