The Chamber Of Commerce Invites Public To VISIT LOCAL On Valentine's Day

February 13, 2020

The Brevard/Transylvania Visitor Center will host its fourth annual Visit Local event as part of the Chamber’s Transylvania True initiative, which focuses on local neighbors, resources and economy to create a stronger Transylvania County. The idea behind Visit Local is to encourage folks who live in this county to get to know their Visitor Center and how it can serve them.

“Visit Local has turned into one of our favorite events because it’s such a fun way to celebrate all things local,” said Clark Lovelace, executive director of the Brevard/ Transylvania Chamber of Commerce and Transylvania County Tourism (TCT). “We have local musicians, door prize donations from local businesses, special drawings for fabulous local events and local volunteers greeting our local visitors. What more could you ask for to showcase how our Visitor Center is here for our residents, not just for people from other parts of the country and the world!”

Throughout the Visit Local event, folks will enjoy the sounds of the Outside Dogs, an old-time string band. There will be tasty Valentine treats contributed by Blue Ridge Bakery and drawings for door prizes donated by The Greystone Inn, KTCHN, D.D. Bullwinkel’s Outdoors, Pisgah Field School, Rockin’ Bowl, David Simchock Photography and Cup & Saucer. Participants must be present to win the door prizes.

There will also be special drawings: one for each day of the Banff Mountain Film Festival in March and one for two free registrations for the 2020 Assault on the Carolinas in April. The drawings for these prizes will take place after 2 p.m. on VISIT LOCAL day, and the winner will be notified.

Come VISIT LOCAL from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 14, at 175 E. Main St. For more information, contact Sally at sally@brevardncchamber. org or call (828) 883-3700.
