Rosman Falls To Swain, Prepares For SMC Tourney

The Rosman Tigers wrapped up their regular season Tuesday night, and now turn their attention to hosting the Smoky Mountain Conference tournament starting on Friday.

The Tigers took on Swain County, and the Maroon Devils came away with a pair of wins.

The Lady Tigers lost a tight game, 60-57, in the early contest while the boys’ team lost 74-37 later on.

The Tigers’ record stands at 2-18 overall and 1-11 in the conference, putting them in last place.

The Lady Tigers hold a 10-11 record overall and a 4-8 mark in conference play, which puts them in sixth place.

Rosman will host the Smoky Mountain Conference tournament beginning with four contests on Friday.

The quarterfinals will be held Friday and Saturday, with the semifinals coming next Monday and Tuesday.

The championship games will be played next Friday.

Things kick off this Friday at 4 p.m. On Saturday, play begins at noon with four games slated.

At this time, the coaches are yet to meet and seed the teams, so it’s not clear when the Tigers will take the court, although Saturday is the most likely scenario.
