As the fleet Mercury approaches the sun this week to pass by it next week, we are left in the evening with the beautiful Venus as the sole planet visible to the naked eye. You don’t have to try to find it these evenings as it is that beautiful beacon high in the southwest as the evening twilight fades. Venus is still standing higher each night and, by the end of the month, it will be a full 41° from the source of its brilliant light.
