Teacher Attrition Below State Average – Transylvania County, NC

Assistant Superintendent Brian Weaver informed the Transylvania County Board of Education Monday night that teacher attrition in the county is just below the state average and comparable to nearby counties.

The attrition rate for Transylvania County for 2018-19 was 10.8 percent while the state average was 12.05 percent.

The attrition rate was 9.8 percent in Polk County, 11 percent in Jackson County, 8.9 percent in Henderson County and 10.9 percent in Buncombe County.

“We’re right there in line with our neighboring counties with our attrition rate,” said Weaver.
