Grant Funding Will Help Increase Rural Connectivity – Transylvania County, NC

A new initiative focused on increasing public Wi-Fi access and installing computers across rural western North Carolina will help students, job seekers and others, according to a news release.

The Rural Downtown Wi-Fi & Jobs Project is a multi-agency effort that recently received a $100,000 grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC).

The funding will help install wireless Internet access points and provide computer kiosks at rural community centers.
