Empty Bowls Filled For Bread Of Life – Brevard, NC

Community members gathered at First United Methodist Church in Brevard Saturday to buy local, handmade pottery and empty their bowls for a cause.

Saturday marked the event's 15th anniversary to raise money for the Bread of Life, a free community soup kitchen that feeds approximately 188 people a day.

"It's called the Empty Bowls project because we're reminded that over time, you pull a bowl out of the cabinet it's empty and there are people in our county that have bowls that are empty,"

said the Bread of Life's director, Michael Collins.
