A feature film entitled “Rosebud Lane” will film near Brevard this year and they are looking to cast a lead role from the WNC area. Tammy Hopkins, with FilmBrevardNC, is helping to cast the role of Aaron, a 10-year-old boy whose mother is white and the father is part Hispanic. Aaron lives in a small town in Western North Carolina and is being raised by a single mother who works in a diner. He isn’t like any of the children in his community or school. Aaron does not play video games.

He has a passion for film and writing. He is a good student and a thoughtful son, but not into sports, guns or rock/pop music.

“Rosebud Lane” is a drama about a Hollywood filmmaker who connects with his estranged young son and the result leaves a small town shattered.

“This film is a SAG Ultra-Low contract, so we are looking at SAG and non-union actors,” Hopkins said. “We will consider 9-to-13-year olds for the role, but the actor selected needs to look 10 years old. We are looking for a slight ethnic ambiguity. Dark hair would be preferred.”

To be considered, email headshot and resume to In-clude: talent name, age, height, parent’s name or agent with phone and email.

If selected to read in person, auditions will be held in Brevard on Saturday, April 4. The film is directed by John Lacy with The Lacy Group Acting Studio.
