Jerry Stevenson Hollar

Jerry Stevenson Hollar passed away Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020, in Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Fla.

He was born in Transylvania County Feb. 24, 1944. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Florence Hollar; his parents, Arthur and Wilma Hollar; and his two brothers, Ernest and Freddie Hollar.

He is survived by one son, Bruce Hollar, and his family of Texas; and one stepdaughter, Laraine Kerber, and her family of Brevard.

He is also survived by several nieces, as well as great-nieces and nephews, many cousins, and numerous close friends in North Carolina, and in Florida.

He also leaves behind his best buddy of 13 years, his cat, Fuss.

He graduated from Rosman High School in 1962, and from Asheville-Buncombe Technical College. He also attended Gardner Webb College.

He shared his love of life with his family and his many friends while living in North Carolina and in Florida each year. He loved fishing at the lake and in the ocean, golfing with friends, and traveling with his special friends.

He was a great friend to many people, and he will be missed. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no formal service. He asked that we each remember him in our own special way.
