Grateful For Tributes

I do not have the words in my vocabulary to express my gratitude for the awesome quilt presented to me last Saturday at a Quilts of Valor ceremony at the Veterans History Museum of the Carolinas. The hours of hard work and devotion on the quilters’ part to produce this absolute work of patriotic art is beyond my comprehension! Of course, it “takes a village,” so, I must give credit to all the QOV quilters here in Western North Carolina, not to mention to the Veterans History Museum.

The museum, and particularly Emmett Casciato and Michel Robertson, have been exceedingly devoted to helping me and my fellow Vietnam veterans get such humbling heaps of recognition. As a result of all involved, I have received 50 years of “stored up recognition” in the short span of slightly over one year!

I am exceedingly grateful to my quilter, Jeanne Burke, the Quilts of Valor organization, and the Veterans History Museum of the Carolinas for this incredible tribute to me and my service!
