Appalachian Trail Thru-Hiker Calls Off Journey

A little over 200 miles into my journey down the Appalachian Trail, after frigid single-digit nights in the elements, cruel winds, lots of rain and possibly the best company I have ever kept, I had to put my lifelong dream on hold. I awoke in my hammock, began sipping my morning coffee to bring some warmth into my soul and checked what I would soon find to be a life-changing email.
