What started as a three week trip to see a female friend in Nairobi, Kenya, has turned into much more than I bargained for. COVID-19 has changed life for all of us, no matter where you are.

It was a gamble even to travel, but having purchased tickets months ago, and with only a handful of cases on the entire continent of Africa as of mid-March, we figured the risk was worth it. Possibly everything was at stake, but making the decision to travel at the time was influenced by the available information – that the virus was dangerous to the elderly and folks with respiratory issues.
