Closures At Area Public Lands Being Monitored -Brevard NC

The U.S. Forest Service has temporarily shut down areas in the Pisgah National Forest, while officials at DuPont State Recreational Forest (DSRF) and Gorges State Park are dealing with the fallout after both properties were recently closed to the public.

In Pisgah National Forest, the following areas are closed:

•Half of the Black Mountain trailhead.

•One entrance to the Ranger Station/Visitor Center.

•The lower portion of Avery Creek Road and associated designated roadside campsites.

•Coontree recreation area.

•Looking Glass Falls recreation site.

•Looking Glass Falls...
