Does having facial hair make someone more likely to get COVID-19?

Tara Rybka, the public information officer with Transylvania Public Health, provided the following response: There is no CDC or WHO guidance about facial hair related to COVID-19. A few studies have found microbes in beards, but all human skin is covered in microbes, so that’s not necessarily cause for concern. There is some evidence that people who wear beards may be more likely to touch their faces.

Some facial hair can interfere with the proper fit and seal for an N-95 respirator.
