Nurse In New York Gives Onsite Account

Editor's Note: Transylvania Times staff writer Alex Perri contacted her aunt, Pam Schleifer, a nurse working in New York City.

Within the span of the 25 minutes it took to interview Pam Schleifer for this story, she said she heard two "code blues" over the hospital intercom system.

"A code blue is when somebody's heart stops beating, and they need resuscitation," she said. "Sometimes you can bring them back, but not always."
