Ann DerGara Named 'Main Street Champion'- Brevard NC

Amid economic hardship in Transylvania in the early 2000s due to the loss of the county's manufacturing industry, internationally recognized artist Ann DerGara, owner of Red Wolf Gallery in downtown, envisioned art as the medicine Brevard needed to heal.

"When I came here 20 years ago, the factories had just closed, and the economy was in trouble, so I started studying about what the arts can do for the economy," she said.
