Free Rein Lessons Suspended, But Horses Keep Staff Busy-Brevard NC

With Free Rein Center's spring riding session suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic, all appears quiet around the barns and arena of Rockbrook Camp. But in the background, the rhythms of life continue.

The 14 therapy horses that are integral to Free Rein's programs are cared for every day by a small crew of staff and volunteers, following CDC guidelines for social distancing. There are barn chores every morning and evening, horses to be exercised and turned out to graze – normal chores during a very abnormal time.
