Lake Toxaway Steps Up To Help Its Neighbors

Lake Toxaway resident Gaye Owen said folks in western Transylvania County are suited well for quarantine, and now, especially, area residents and nonprofits are working extra hard to help one another during the pandemic.

"Because of where we live, we're doing quite well," Owen said. "Our food bank is still up and running...We're serving around 30 families every other week. I haven't seen a big jump there, but I think because of our isolated nature here on the mountain, it just helps us out. We're used to making one trip a week or every other week into town to buy groceries...We've got lots...
