Balsam Grove Jam Session

The Balsam Grove Community Club will not open for Jam Sessions in May. This is because many of our attendees are among those considered to be vulnerable either because of age or other factors. Also, we could not host these events in any way that would meet the building occupancy requirements.

The playground will be opened when the public playgrounds are allowed to reopen. If you have any questions, call Bernice Powell at 884-6058 or Carol Gardner at 884-6247. We hope everyone is safe and healthy. We miss seeing all our neighbors and friends.

Plant Sale Cancelled

We hate to announce this, but our vegetable plant sale for Saturday, May 9, has to be cancelled. Our plants have gotten sick and are dying. We are so sorry, but we still thank Jim and Carol Shull for their months of hard work in growing these plants. What a disappointment for them and us.

Census Report

If you want help completing your 2020 census response, someone will be at the Balsam Grove Community Center from 9 a.m. until noon, Saturday, May 8, to help you do it online or by phone.

We will be wearing a mask and practicing social distancing. Please complete the census, so we can be counted for our share of government services, like schools, roads and our post office.

Balsam Grove Playground

We are closing the Balsam Grove Community Club playground until Gov. Cooper cancels our stay-at-home order. Playgrounds were included in the order, and we want to do all we can to keep our children safe. Like our mothers taught us, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Thanks for your cooperation.

Notice

Just a reminder, if you have donations for our yard sales, contact a community club officer to meet you at the community center to put it in the building.

Items get ruined if they are just dropped at the door, and then we have to pay to have it hauled off.

We appreciate your cooperation. Calls may be made to Bernice Powell at 884-6058 or Carol Gardner at 884-6247. or any other officer.

Birthdays

Those celebrating a birthday this week are Lexy Owen, May 7; Carolyn McCall, May 6; Pam Tessier, May 9; Carol Shull; and Joe Henderson, May 11. We wish all of these a happy birthday.
