Rhododendrons Are In Peak Bloom

Rhododendrons in Transylvania County's lower elevations are in full bloom right now, and Mountain Laurels are just on their heels. According to, the name Rhododendron comes from the Greek words "rodon" meaning "rose" and "dendron" meaning tree, thus rose tree.
