Brevard Manager Calls For No Tax Increase -Brevard NC

Brevard City Manager Jim Fatland has recommended no property tax increase for the 2020/2021 fiscal year, which begins July 1.
Brevard City Council heard Fatland’s proposed budget Monday. Fatland said the $20.4 million budget proposal changed after Gov. Roy Cooper issued the executive stay-at-home-order.

“I’m recommending no property tax increase,” he said. “I recommend that we continue to do the 2 percent discount to taxpayers who pay their bill on or before Aug. 31, like we did last year. We collected over 60 percent of our tax collection by Aug. 31.”...
