The Mills River Farmer’s Market 12th seasonal opening was Saturday, May 16, from 8 a.m. to noon at G&B Energy, 5046 Boylston Highway #1, in Mills River (temporary) location.
The market is a producer only market with farms located within a 50-mile radius. This gives the shopper a chance to talk with the grower about their growing practices as well as receive the freshest food possible. A wide variety of products are available for your choosing, from early spring greens and plant starts to meats and breads. Value added items such as jams, tea, ghee, and honey are also available.
Many safety precautions have been put in place for shoppers due to COVID-19, including but not limited to required vendor masks, handwashing stations, hand sanitizer at all booths, socially distanced vendors and customer queues, and product handling guidelines. We are proud to be an open air, hyper-safe environment that serves the community with excellence.
“We are so excited the market has opened. Fresh vegetables and meats that many people are struggling to find are now available. We plan to follow COVID-19 procedures to keep our vendors and customers safe and well,” said Linda Brittain, treasurer of the market.
The Mills River Farm Market is a 501c(3) agency open from 8 a.m. until noon, May through October. Debit and credit cards are accepted. SNAP/EBT are accepted with a Double Dollars program. When an EBT card is used, the customer is given a matching amount in dollar tokens to be spent at the market.
