COVID-19 Hangs Over County Manager's Budget -Brevard NC

With the impact of COVID-19 in mind, County Manager Jaime Laughter’s $59.7 million general fund budget for the 2020/2021 fiscal year features no property tax increase and a 9 percent spending decrease from the current year budget.
Laughter presented her proposed budget for the new fiscal year, which begins July 1, during Tuesday’s Board of Commissioners meeting. During the months it takes to prepare a budget, a pandemic happened.
