Jake Dalton was appointed and sworn in Tuesday to the Transylvania County Board of Commissioners.
As previously reported, Dalton was the local Republican Party nominee to see out the term of recently deceased Commissioner Will Cathey.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to be here,” said Dalton after being sworn in. “The circumstances are not good. Will was a friend, both professionally and personally, but I promise to do the best that I can.”
