We Need Responsible Growth

I lived on the west coast of Florida in the early ‘70s. Back then, the road bordered a white sand beach that stretched for miles with unlimited access and an unobstructed view of the Gulf of Mexico. Small locally owned motels and seafood “shacks” satisfied visitors and locals alike. Over time, the mom and pop motels and restaurants were overshadowed by chain hotels and stores hawking cheap junk.
Today that 2-lane road is a 4-lane canyon of high-rise condos and strip centers.
