Pisgah Hospitality Partners, LLC, a US Forest Service concessionaire based in Pisgah Forest, has worked closely with the Forest Service and will be reopening the Pisgah Complex beginning June 1, 2020. This complex includes Davidson River Campground, Lake Powhatan Campground, North Mills River Campground, the iconic North Carolina river experience at Sliding Rock and several group campgrounds.

These recreation areas of Pisgah Forest offer visitors the opportunity to explore, camp, learn and recreate in the pristine forests and clear waters of the Pisgah National Forest.

“Safety is our priority, and we’ve been working closely with the Pisgah Ranger District to get ready for reopening,” explained W. Ken Stamps, director of operations for Pisgah Hospitality Partners. “We’re excited to reopen the iconic Sliding Rock. Initially upon reopening however, sliding will not be allowed until we believe that we can maintain safe operations. As a result, a reduced entry fee will be charged.”

“Protecting the health and safety of our staff and visitors is our first focus,” said Stamps, “so it’s crucial that our staff and all visitors to Pisgah Forest to adhere to safety guidelines now to make sure that we can continue to offer these areas to the public in the future.”

Pisgah Hospitality Partners strongly encourages the public to bring their own face coverings and practice social distancing for the safety of others.

Pisgah Hospitality Partners, LLC is located in Pisgah Forest, NC. Its mission is to provide enhanced forest recreational access and opportunities to the public, and to engender lifelong advocacy for public lands among our visitors through educational and interpretive programming.
