Sunday afternoon, as I drove by our courthouse, I saw a small group of young men, with signs, engaged in a peaceful demonstration for justice for George Floyd. Some people walking by waved, some people driving by honked and waved, as did I.

This is Brevard.

A block down the hill, I passed a young black woman and small boy, walking up the hill to join the demonstration. They carried a sign saying, “When will I be old enough to be a threat?”

My heart was broken open!
