Blue Ridge Bakery Announces New Options For Customers

“We have been trying to figure out ways, in particular, that we can best accommodate our friends and downtown businesses under the restrictions imposed by the pandemic,” said Katina Hansen, who operates the bakery along with her husband John.
The restaurant has been offering online ordering for curb-side pick up the next day during the initial phase of reopening.
“Using our website is truly the safest and most convenient way for patrons to get the food they’ve always enjoyed at our restaurant,” Katina said.
Now, along with ordering online for next day pickup, customers can also order “Lunch-to-Go” on the bakery’s website with pickup available in 15 minutes. And the popular restaurant is now open with a limited offering for walk-in customers.
“We’re not ready for sit-in dining yet or to take orders from our full menu on site,” Katina notes, “but we are now able to offer our walk-in customers a selection of pastries, muffins, cookies and brownies that customers do not have to pre-order. Coffee is available as well.”
By using the “Order Online” section of the bakery’s website, customers can also order specialty cakes, cupcakes or any of the always-popular muffins and cookies.
The bakery, located at 86 W. Main St., is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ordering from their full menu, along with dinner specials and Lunch-to-Go, is available at http://www.blueridgebakery.com. The site even includes a tutorial on how to interface with the ordering process for those new to online transactions.
“We also would like the public to know that our staff will be working hard to make sure that our bakery is sanitized often,” Katina said. “We’ve brought back staff that works in shifts so that there are never more than two people working in the back at one time.”
Katina notes that they are also asking that customers do their part as well by wearing a mask and using the sanitizer that is provided at both the entrance and exit from the bakery.
