Recently, I saw a political sign on the side of the road on N.C. 215, in Pisgah National Forest.

I’d like to think that we could at least escape from politics when we go in our public forests.

Is it legal to put political signs in the national forests or state forests or parks?

Public Affairs Officer for National Forests in North Carolina Cathy Dowd said it is not legal to post signs on the National Forest.

I’ve seen a lot of cars parked along areas like Coon Tree and Looking Glass Falls that are closed. Is the Forest Service enforcing these closures?
