Cawthorn Ahead In Republican Primary Runoff Tuesday-Brevard NC

With nearly 95 percent of the vote reported, Republican Madison Cawthorn was ahead in the race to face Democrat Moe Davis in November for North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District seat.

With 298 of the 314 counties in the district reporting, Cawthorn had 27,938 votes to Lynda Bennett’s 14,956 votes in Tuesday’s GOP primary runoff. In Transylvania County, Cawthorn received 1,611 votes to Bennett’s 809 votes.

November’s winner will replaced Republican Meadows, who decided not to run again.
