Transylvania County Board of Education Chair Tawny McCoy said the numbers presented at a recent School Bond Construction Committee between the proposed schematic designs and initial cost of completing those designs at the Brevard High and Rosman High/Middle school campuses were “a little startling.”

“They were about 17 percent over the budget, which is about $12 million, which is a lot of money; no doubt about that,” McCoy told her fellow members of the Transylvania County Board of Education Monday, June 15.
