NCDOT To Suspend Most Lane Closures For July 4th Holiday

The North Carolina Department of Transportation says it will suspend most lane closures on major routes for the July 4th holiday to help ease congestion for travelers.
The suspensions are scheduled to begin on the evening of July 2 and last until the morning of July 7.
NCDOT says there are some areas where lane closures will have to remain due to safety concerns.
Drivers can check the status of their route in advance by going to www.drivenc.gov. The public may also follow NCDOT on Twitter to track travel updates by region or route.
