City OKs Budget, Property Purchase-Brevard NC

On Monday, Brevard City Council approved the 2020/2021 city budget for the fiscal year, which began Wednesday, and includes no tax increase and for capital projects to be deferred to September.

As previously reported, City Manager Jim Fatland said the $20.4 million budget proposal changed after Gov. Roy Cooper issued the executive stay-at-home order.

Fatland also rec-ommended that the city continue with the 2 percent discount to taxpayers who pay their tax bill on or before Aug. 31, similar to last year.
