In January the first report came of someone testing positive in the U.S. for COVID-19.
On Feb. 14, Peter Navaro, White House director in the Office of Trade and Manufacturing sent a memo to the COVID 19 Task Force chaired by Vice President Mike Pence asking, “Has the export of N-95 (masks) been halted? If not, why not? We are facing shortages...We should not be exporting any more supplies. These masks are the front line defense for our health care professionals and we can’t waste them.”
