Is Nanna’s and Mommy’s day care closed due to an outbreak of COVID-19?
Nanna’s and Mommy’s day care center has been closed temporarily until today, pending test results from six adults and three children being symptomatic of COVID-19, according to a letter sent to parents of children at the day care.
Transylvania County Health public information officer Tara Rybka said there are no positive COVID-19 results as of July 9 attributed to the day care center and that the day care closed out of an “abundance of caution” for its employees and children.
Rybka said the day care was not ordered to close its facility but did so of its own volition while test results are pending.
Nanna’s and Mommy’s owner Mi Thompson said, “No one is COVID positive.”
“We’re just looking out for the safety of our community and families...Like everybody else, we’re erring on the caution and safety side as our governor and health department guides us to do,” she said.
