In the Bible Mission

The In the Bible Mission meets every Sunday morning at the Cathey’s Creek Community Center. This past Sunday Pastor Brian Hoxit brought the message. The Rev. Pete Lee is the church pastor. There is always good singing and praising the Lord at the church service. Visitors are always welcome.

Cathey’s Creek History Project

We are still working on finding history and stories about Cathey’s Creek community. We are guessing Monday was too hot to brave the heat. When I got into my car, the temperature was 94. When we got to the community center, we were so amazed at the work that has been done. Of course, there is lots more to be done but that will happen.

Happy Birthday

Happy birthday to Elizabeth Eubanks on July 15. Birthday wishes go to several people on July 21, Luke Whitmire, Josh Alexander, Vickie Trent and Kiana Norris, and it would have been Marshall Johnson 79th birthday.

Prayers for those who are sick or in the hospital, nursing facilities, fighting cancer or home bound. Prayers for Lou Maney, who fell recently. Pray for our churches, clergy, medical personnel our military, firefighters and, especially, for law enforcement officers.

The Window

Summertime is here: hot days, cool nights and flowers blooming. One of my lilies from last year survived. Now it is in full bloom and smells so good. I couldn’t believe how beautiful it is, bigger and stronger than ever.

A few weeks ago, early one morning, I caught something moving out of the corner of my eye. It was a raccoon walking toward the house. It went around the corner, and I didn’t see it anymore. It was walking Ok without problems; I have not seen one around here before. I did not let Bullet out for a while after that, and when he did go out, I kept a close eye on him. He is current on his rabies shots, but I sure didn’t want him to confront the raccoon.
